The Cafesjian Center for the Arts (CCA) Announces the Opening of the Exhibition, Georgii Uvs: THE GATE, on June 13, 2024, in EagleGallery.
The Cafesjian Center for the Arts announces the private preview of London-based artist Georgii Uvs exhibition, THE GATE, in Eagle gallery of the Center on June 13, 2024, at 6:30pm.
The curator of the exhibition is Ellen Nash (Nashikian).
Georgii Uvs, both philosopher and artist, strives to express the unique psychological and emotional states he believes humanity is experiencing. The only medium through which he expresses his existential conclusions and explorations is paint. He uses paint as his sole medium, foregoing brushes and traditional tools, crafting his paints from medieval recipes and his own secrets.
THE GATE series emerged during one of the most transitional periods in human history, affecting all civilizations and countries, regardless of race, creed, or political regime - COVID-19 and the lockdown.
The works in THE GATE series use two primary colors - black and red - highlighted by the artist’s signature ultraviolet pigment technique. As soon as the light changes, the ultraviolet pigment begins to 'resonate' with vivid colors.
“Through his existential approach to painting, Georgii captures the deep emotional and spiritual state of modern humanity, portraying the psychological situation in which we all find ourselves”,- states the curator of the exhibition, Ellen Nash (Nashikian).
The exhibition will be open for the public in Eagle gallery of the Center from June 14, 2024, to October 6, 2024. The admission is free.
